Why the devlog exists

Electric Catan was originally born in a Notion doc in September 2025, an idea that lived mostly in Eliot and Jake's heads at the tail end of their time at UCSC. For months it simmered in bursts of sketched diagrams and obsessively revised parts lists.

Then Jess came along, and her friends were already planning exhibits for OpenSauce 2026. With the application deadline being May 12th and the exhibit on July 18–19, suddenly we had a natural forcing function to finish the darn thing.
